Preparing for the Adventure of a Lifetime

How do you prepare for the adventure of a lifetime? I can't even begin to describe all the feelings rolling up and down my spine. I am going to Africa- my dream continent. For those that know how much wanderlust is at the core of who I am... this is has been something I have been DYING to do and has been postponed several times due to covid and other factors. I get to learn about the beautiful and amazing people of Senegal. I get to TEACH there. Blessed is not a strong enough word. I can't believe this happening! I remember the look on my student's faces when I told them. They were so genuinely excited for me. I could see the pride in my African kiddos' faces. " You're going to love my home." I just melted. I said, " I already do." We have been learning about the Senegalese culture, local language ( Wolof) and writing postcards to our new "friends" as part of a lesson I will teach while I am there. I haven't left yet, and the adventure has already started. I can't wait to give these postcards to my Senegalese students and help them respond.
